Sterling, VA – REI Systems (REI) announced today that it has been awarded a new task order by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) for modernization of HRSA’s Uniform Data System (UDS). UDS is the principal reporting tool for quantitatively depicting the Bureau of Primary Health Care’s Health Center Program performance and is used for program planning and performance management.
This task order builds on REI’s existing work to provide development, modernization, and enhancements to the Electronic Handbooks (EHBs). REI will develop new capabilities to reduce the data entry burden, increase reporting flexibility, and reduce cycle times for quality assurance. “My team and I are excited to improve the reporting experience for the health centers by providing an equitable solution for health centers regardless of their internal IT capabilities,” says Kumar Anupam, Senior Director in the Health Systems Business Unit at REI.
REI will automate the data submission process by creating a transfer mechanism between the health center Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and the UDS. REI will provision a data mart to provide self-service access to program stakeholders using tools such as Tableau. Finally, REI will also provide training, communications, and change management support to enable high user adoption.
“We see tremendous opportunities to make patient-level clinical, financial, and administrative healthcare data accessible to program stakeholders to strengthen the linkages between effort and outcomes,” says Subhash Kari, Chief Technology Officer at REI. “By adopting modern interoperability standards such as FHIR and combining them with our future-focused microservices architecture approach, we will make a difference in the health IT modernization space.”
REI has been supporting HRSA since 2001. The HRSA EHBs support 43,000+ users with over 450K workflow tasks handled each year to support electronic business processes.
