On Friday, February 26th, REI Systems (REI) was included on the Washington Business Journal‘s list of top Minority-Owned Companies ranked by 2015 revenue. This was REI’s first time applying, and of the 35 companies on the list, REI ranked at #5 with a total revenue of $80.5 million.
The Washington Business Journal compiles and publishes the Book of Lists every year. The 2016 edition of the book, which was released in January, includes 115 lists of top local companies in categories including Largest Employers, Women-owned Businesses, Fastest-Growing Companies, and more.
REI was founded in 1989 by its current president Veer Bhartiya and current executive vice president Shyam Salona. Today, REI is an entirely employee-owned company with more than 500 employees in the DC area. As REI continues to support each customer that the company has ever served—including a 26-year partnership with NASA—REI expects to achieve greater results and meaningful contributions in years to come.
The list can be seen in the Feb. 26 issue of the
Journal. Subscribers can view the entire list online, or anyone can view the top 5 companies on the list (including REI!) without a login here:
