REI Systems’ Kevin White, Director of Contracts, authored the article, “An ‘Other than Small’ Company in Small Business Clothing: How “Other than Small” Companies May Bid on Small Business Set-Asides”, which was published in the July issue of the National Contracts Management Association’s (NCMA) Contract Management Magazine. The article explains how, in certain circumstances, the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) allows “other than small” companies to bid and be awarded task orders for work that is set aside for small businesses under governmentwide acquisition contracts (GWACs). This provision in the regulations offers a smoother transition path for “recently graduated” small businesses and helps to broaden the pool of potential awardees, benefitting the government.
