San Diego’s Economic Development Department (EDD)

The EDD fosters community revitalization and economic opportunity to ensure a high quality of life for residents. It managed a $10M paper-based block grant program that was troubled with a lack of tracking, reporting and performance, collaboration and information sharing, and errors. Within two months GovGrants was implemented and dramatically improved the user experience, increased recipient applications by 30%, and reduced errors and noncompliance by 25% and reduced labor hours significantly.

Utah State Board of Education (USBE)

The USBE provides programmatic and fiscal grant support across the State of Utah. USBE managed $4.5B in grants on 40+ error-prone spreadsheets. The system was fraught with overpayments, non-compliance, and a lack of transparency. GovGrants automated the entire lifecycle which optimized USBE’s labor and payment operations, increased visibility and accountability, reduced waste and risk, and increased productivity by 35%.

Legal Services Corporation (LSC)

LSC, a congressionally funded nonprofit, provides grants for civil legal aid for low-income Americans with the mission of promoting equal access to justice. They distribute around $420M of grants a year. Their grants were managed by five different systems and many processes were manual with no financial system integrations. LSC also had no centralized reporting ability, and the customer experience was poor. In four months, GovGrants centralized and automated all grant and financial operations. LSC was able to ramp up two new grant programs in three weeks. Application times were reduced  by 80% and application reviews when from weeks to days.
