REI Systems has worked with the General Services Administration (GSA) to modernize, centralize, and streamline mission critical systems for a high performing government. We not only helped digitize and transform GSA systems, but also leveraged our Advisory services to help ensure the right policies were in place to support successful financial management, cost optimization, security, and performance measurement.
Replacing Legacy Systems to More Effectively Manage Government Property
GSA’s Personal Property Management (PPM) program has a critical mission to assist federal agencies with the reuse and disposal of federal personal property items no longer needed within their respective organizations. REI is helping GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) modernize PPM to support oversight and disposition of assets across the government. We are helping FAS move from seven different COBOL-based predecessor systems to modern technologies and the AWS cloud, using REI’s Agile Delivery Framework, including a CI/CD pipeline for efficient and secure development. The new system is already reducing inefficiencies and duplication, making work easier for users and improving accountability for valuable assets while reducing asset disposal cycle times.
Advising and Supporting OGP in Its Management and Implementation of IT Policy
Our team advises and supports GSA’s Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP) to manage and implement policies on IT, including the President’s Management Agenda, Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA), the Data Center Optimization Initiative, Technology Business Management (TBM), and Cloud Smart strategy. We support the Chief Information Officer Council and OMB’s Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer with research on emerging technologies, the Future of the IT Workforce Report, and IT Modernization Metrics. REI’s team supports Communities of Practice related to Cloud, IT Workforce, TBM, FITARA, and Data Center Optimization.
