On May 25th, REI Systems and the George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School hosted a Grants Management Breakfast (GMB) Forum at the university’s Marvin Center in Washington, DC. These bimonthly GMB Forums bring together professionals from government, academia, and industry to share first-hand experiences in managing the full grants life cycle, resulting in real-world opportunities for process and performance improvement.
More than 70 participants gathered both in-person and online to observe the presentation of Jeffrey Johnson, Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary at HHS. His presentation, titled “Uniform Grants Guidance Two Years In: Perspective on Trends and Successes,” delved into HHS’ experiences and lessons learned as they continue to implement the Uniform Grants Guidance since its conception two years ago. Mr. Johnson’s presentation captivated the audience with witty sports metaphors and personal anecdotes as he detailed a timeline and helpful tips on how grantors can make the most for their organizations and their grantees under the Uniform Grants Guidance.
