The TBM Council held its first annual Public Sector Summit on Technology Business Management (TBM) for public and private sector executives on Wednesday, July 11th at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. REI Systems was a proud sponsor for the event that was attended by more than 200 public sector employees. This one-day event had a heavy hitting lineup, with opening marks from the Federal CIO of OMB, Suzette Kent. Other speakers included David Shive, CIO of GSA, and Jason Gray, CIO of the US Department of Education. Discussions were tailored to help drive executive commitment and described early wins for government implementation of TBM.
The REI Systems team walked away with a few key takeaways on how to implement TBM in agencies or organizations:
- Just get started and begin the value conversations.
- Don’t wait for perfect—engage your stakeholders early.
- Organizations and agencies can get quick wins, identify inefficiencies, bad data, and take action as they mature through the process.
