Sterling, Va. – REI Systems (REI) announced today that the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Office of Communications (OC) awarded the company a contract to provide online communications support. These activities will be conducted in support of the public and, in addition to the intranet,

Under this 3-year contract, REI will be responsible for developing and maintaining EIA software and web applications, providing database administration support, writing and editing web content, and other maintenance and web dissemination-related activities. In addition to this work with EIA, REI was contracted last year to create EIA’s National Oil and Gas Gateway project (Gateway), which was completed this year.

“We’re excited to work with EIA on a longer-term project starting this year,” says Brian Le, Project Manager in REI’s Science and Technology unit. “I think we really showed what we could do with the Gateway project. We had a great team that enjoyed the challenge, and we’re ready for the next one.”

EIA is the statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Energy and is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and dissemination information about energy to increase public awareness, understanding, and accessibility. EIA programs track and report data on coal, petroleum, natural gas, electric, renewable, and nuclear energy.
