A recent forum hosted by REI Systems, the National Grants Management Association, and George Washington University unveiled the 2024 Grants Management Survey results, spotlighting the sector’s evolving trends and obstacles.
The event emphasized the role of grants management in delivering public services and sought to address major industry hurdles, improve career development, and provide better support for professionals in the field.
The survey unanimously called for a streamlined, standardized, and tech-driven approach to grants management. It also emphasized early integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA), marking a stride toward racial equity and helping underrepresented groups.
A major topic was technological challenges, with a push for contemporary, intuitive, and flexible solutions to lessen administrative strain and bolster efficiency.
The discussion highlighted the demand for skilled staff, pointing out retention difficulties and the vital need for extensive training and development. It also delved into implementing DEIA initiatives, legislative impacts on grants management, and artificial intelligence’s role in reshaping the field.
The forum concluded with a consensus on the necessity for progress toward modernization, inclusivity, and the incorporation of new technologies in grants management.
