REI teams with Digicon under a new CIO-SP2 Task Order to provide Application Development and Program Support Services

Herndon, VA, January 31, 2011 — REI Systems announced today that it has been awarded a new subcontract by Herndon, VA-based Digicon Corporation to provide software application development services to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Valued at approximately $3 Million over three years, REI and Digicon will provide HRSA’s Healthcare Systems Bureau a new software platform to administer, support, and process claims for the agency’s Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program and its Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Based on automated business processes and approval workflows developed by REI already for HRSA for its eGrants mission, the software’s main purpose will be to handle and manage claims to the Federal Government by Americans harmed by approved vaccines.

“REI is pleased to extend its software development services into a new HRSA bureau and to team with Digicon Corporation, “ said REI Vice President and Healthcare IT Systems Practice Lead Subhash Kari. “Our people have been supporting HRSA Bureaus for more than nine years on automating and optimizing their grants processing capability. Our new work for the HSB is another example of extending the benefits of our process automation work to date in this very important Federal agency.”

The contract is a new task order award under the CIO-SP2 contract vehicle, on which Digicon is a prime award holder.
