As Chief People Officer, Shawn Julien leads the development and implementation of REI Systems’ people strategy supporting its 800+ professionals. Shawn is committed to driving sustainable growth and fostering inclusive workplaces where every individual can thrive. With over two decades of strategic leadership in Human Resources, Shawn has led HR transformation through the HR maturity model to a state of value creation for employees, business delivery and enterprise growth. His journey began in dynamic environments, from private equity to publicly traded enterprises, where he honed his skills in fostering high-performance cultures and aligning HR initiatives with business imperatives.

At General Dynamics Information Technology, a global defense contractor, Shawn served as Senior Director of HR, overseeing multiple HR teams in support of its 28,000 employees and drove a transformative human capital strategy. Leading a culture of transparency and inclusion, he championed initiatives to enhance employee well-being and foster innovation, earning accolades for exceeding business objectives.

Prior to this, his role as Director of HR for Engility’s Defense Business Unit equipped him with the expertise to navigate complex organizational transitions and drive organic growth through talent optimization strategies.

Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his ability to translate business goals into actionable HR initiatives, from talent acquisition to workforce planning. His passion for cultivating talent extends beyond the boardroom, where he has contributed to community initiatives and served as a trusted stakeholder in significant infrastructure development projects throughout Loudoun County.

Outside of work, Shawn enjoys spending time with his family and friends, vacationing on the water and being outdoors. He lives in Leesburg, VA with his wife Molly and their three daughters.
