REI will move five OGP websites to the cloud, including Acquisition.gov
Sterling, VA – November 23, 2015 – REI Systems (REI) announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) to support the Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP) Web Portfolio. Over the past 6 years, REI has supported GSA across multiple governmentwide initiatives, but this is REI’s first direct engagement with GSA’s OGP organization.
Under this new 5-year contract, worth $2.7M, REI will migrate several existing systems under the OGP Web Portfolio umbrella—such as Acquistion.gov, FMI.gov, BuyAccessible.gov, Section508.gov, and PIC.gov—onto the GSA Amazon cloud (AWS). Another key effort will include maintaining and enhancing Acqusition.gov, a digital version of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) – a substantial and complex set of rules governing the federal government’s purchasing rules and processes.
“We are enthusiastic to begin working with the Office of Governmentwide Policy to continue development of their web portfolio,” said John Druitt, Senior Program Manager for Open Government at REI. “As an open source Drupal system, the OGP Web Portfolio is well-aligned with our long-term support of the Office of Management and Budget’s and GSA’s eGovernment initiatives.”
OGP has a governmentwide policymaking authority that covers personal and real property, travel and transportation, information technology, regulatory information and use of federal advisory committees. OGP’s strategic direction is to ensure that governmentwide policies encourage agencies to develop and use the best, and most cost-effective management practices for the execution of their programs.
