On May 7th, REI Systems’ Kishore Vuppala and Denny Chiramel co-published a two-part article on NextGov titled, “Moving Your Agency From ‘Lights On’ to IT Transformation.” This article summarizes how IT budget cuts and outdated technology in government agencies stifle IT development and modernization of agencies’ operations and maintenance (O&M), highlighting fiscal and technical actions agencies should take to reduce current O&M and to expand the budget for development, modernization, and enhancement (DM&E) initiatives.
