What is GovOrch AI?
GovOrch™ AI is REI Systems’ secure, governed agentic AI data orchestration solution designed to help government agencies use fragmented data across systems to make faster, more informed mission decisions. It connects to data where it already resides, discovers relevant sources, harmonizes schemas, orchestrates governed data workflows, and enables users to get cross-system insights through natural-language questions.
What problem does GovOrch AI solve?
Government data is often spread across disconnected systems, databases, programs, and platforms that were not designed to work together. This makes it difficult to answer questions that require information from multiple sources and can create significant human-dependent data engineering work before AI can provide meaningful results. But agentic AI can significantly reduce that human effort. GovOrch AI uses agentic AI to provide an orchestration layer across those systems so agencies can use their existing data more effectively without first consolidating everything into a new centralized platform.
How does GovOrch AI work?
A user can begin with a mission or business question in natural language. GovOrch AI identifies relevant data sources, evaluates and harmonizes their schemas, and generates the data workflows needed to bring the information together. Those workflows are executed through governed, deterministic processes so users can trace how the underlying data was transformed and how the resulting answer was produced.
How is GovOrch AI different from a chatbot?
A chatbot primarily generates conversational responses based on the information available to a language model or the content it can retrieve. GovOrch AI goes further by orchestrating the underlying data work needed to answer complex questions across multiple systems.
GovOrch can autonomously discover relevant data sources, reconcile different schemas, create governed data workflows, execute transformations, and validate results before presenting an answer. This also includes creating data pipelines (ETL) from natural language. Natural language is the interface, but the core capability is governed data orchestration rather than conversation alone.
Does GovOrch AI require agencies to move their data into a new platform?
No. GovOrch AI is designed to connect to data where it already lives rather than requiring agencies to migrate all of their information into a new centralized repository or data platform before they can begin using it. This allows agencies to preserve their existing systems and data investments while creating an intelligent orchestration layer across them without getting vendor-locked into big data platforms.
How is GovOrch AI different from a data lake, data warehouse, or data platform?
Data lakes, warehouses, and enterprise data platforms typically provide places to store, consolidate, manage, or analyze data. GovOrch AI plays a different role: it orchestrates access to and transformation of data across existing systems. It can work with the platforms an agency already uses, helping connect information across those environments instead of requiring one platform to become the new home for all agency data.
How is GovOrch AI different from retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG?
Retrieval-augmented generation typically improves an AI model’s response by retrieving relevant documents or other unstructured content and providing that information to the model as context. GovOrch AI is designed for a broader data interoperability challenge. It can identify structured data across multiple enterprise systems, reconcile different schemas, build transformation workflows, combine information, and execute governed data operations before an answer is generated. RAG can help an AI find relevant content; GovOrch helps an agency orchestrate and use data across systems.
How does GovOrch AI support trustworthy and explainable AI?
GovOrch AI is designed so that the data processes behind an answer can be inspected and traced. Rather than relying solely on a model to generate an answer, GovOrch uses governed data workflows to retrieve, transform, reconcile, and validate information from underlying sources. This provides users with greater visibility into where the data came from, how it was processed, and how an answer was produced.
What is GovOrch.Script?
GovOrch.Script is REI Systems’ proprietary data orchestration language. It translates data workflows into explicit, executable steps that can be governed, reviewed, audited, and repeated. This helps separate deterministic data processing from the probabilistic behavior of AI models and provides a traceable foundation for AI-driven analysis. It powers both the chat-based user interaction with enterprise datasets as well as lets them build data transformation workflows or create pipelines using natural language.
What kinds of questions can users ask GovOrch AI?
GovOrch AI is designed for questions that require information to be combined across multiple systems or datasets. For example, a program leader might ask about the relationship between funding, program performance, risk, and contractor performance across several government data sources. Similarly, GovOrch AI can also help create a grantee risk scorecard using disaggregated financial, operational, and compliance datasets. GovOrch can identify the relevant information, create the required cross-system workflow, and return an answer without requiring the user to manually assemble the data first.
Who can use GovOrch AI?
GovOrch AI is designed to support both technical teams and mission or business users. Data and technology teams can use it to accelerate the creation of governed data pipelines and integrations, while mission, program, acquisition, financial, and other business users can interact with the resulting data through natural-language questions. This helps reduce the gap between the people who manage data and the people who need it to make decisions.
Can GovOrch AI work with an agency’s existing technology environment?
Yes. GovOrch AI is designed to operate across existing systems and data environments rather than replace them. It can provide an orchestration layer across databases, applications, cloud environments, data platforms, and other enterprise systems. This allows agencies to build on their current technology investments while improving how data can be accessed and used across organizational and system boundaries.
How does GovOrch AI help reduce the work required to integrate data?
Traditional data integration can require teams to manually identify data sources, analyze schemas, map fields, build pipelines, and maintain custom transformations. GovOrch AI uses agents to help automate large portions of this process, including data discovery, schema analysis, harmonization, and workflow generation. The goal is to reduce repetitive engineering effort while maintaining governed, human-in-the-loop processes.
How can GovOrch AI help agencies move AI from pilot to production?
AI pilots often work with a limited set of curated data, while production systems must operate across legacy applications, disconnected databases, security requirements, inconsistent schemas, and real operational workflows. GovOrch AI addresses that underlying data and interoperability challenge by creating governed access to information across existing systems. This gives agencies a foundation for deploying AI capabilities that can operate against real mission data with greater traceability, repeatability, and control.
What government missions or use cases can GovOrch AI support?
GovOrch AI can support mission and business challenges where decision-makers need to bring together information from multiple systems. Potential applications include program oversight, grants management, acquisition, financial management, improper payments, contractor performance, fraud and risk analysis, regulatory oversight, operational planning, and other cross-program questions. The common challenge is not the mission area itself, but the need to turn fragmented data into trusted, usable information without rebuilding the agency’s entire data environment.
